IOI's Somi and her father Mathew Douma appeared on Happy Together, but why did they cry?
I.O.I.'s Somi and her father, Mathew Douma, who is an actor in South Korea appeared together on Happy Together II, the South Korean popular KBS TV show yesterday.
During the show, the father and daughter cried together, but why?
Mr. Douma said that he shed tears watching Somi cry after being finally eliminated from the Sixteen survival show by Mnet and JYP Entertainment which aired last year.
"I thought about how to console her on my way to pick her on the last day of Sixteen, but she said she was alright. However, I saw her tears while she was sleeping, and I cried. I felt sorry because there was nothing I could do."
Upon hearing this Somi also cried and said, "I have never seem him cry before."
I understand her father, because I also have children, and it is sometimes very painful when you see them suffer and there is nothing you can do for them, because failure is part of life. Nobody can succeed in everything. Failure is just an experience that you must overcome and it is sometimes valuable to experience failure. Failure makes you humble and strong. Park Jin-Young, CEO of JYP Entertainment also said he could not have succeeded if he had not been rejected by SM Entertainment when he had auditioned for the company to become a singer.
